Hailing from South Africa, Jacob De Villiers graduated in 1989 with a B.Juris degree in law from the University of Port Elizabeth in South Africa, where he also went on to earn a post graduate Legum Baccalaureus (LL-B) degree in law. After obtaining his B.Juris and LL.B degrees, Jacob next obtained a Higher Diploma in Company Law from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa. Before permanently relocating to the United States in 1999, Jacob ran his own law firm in Pretoria, South Africa. 

Jacob was admitted to the California Bar in 2002. Prior to starting his own firm with a focus on estate & trust law resolutions, Jacob was the Senior Managing Attorney at the premier estate and trust law firm Bradley R. Kirk & Associates, Inc. where he started his journey as a California lawyer in 2001. Bradley R. Kirk & Associates, Inc. merged with The Estate Lawyers on January 1, 2024. Jacob has since left The Estate Lawyers, and on August 1, 2024 started is his own firm - DeVilliers Estate Law Resolutions. 

Jacob brings extensive expertise in Probate and Trust pre-trial matters in his pursuit to identify and protect the interests of his clients with a focus on resolutions to minimize and mitigate litigation for heirs, beneficiaries, trustees and elders subjected to financial abuse and/or isolation.
